Raspberry Banana Smoothie

November 19, 2020 by Amber

Raspberry Banana Smoothie

This raspberry banana smoothie is vegan, high in antioxidants, and fantastic for gut health. The raspberry banana smoothie recipe is made with frozen raspberries, banana, coconut yogurt, and oat milk.

Raspberries are an antioxidant-rich fruit that helps to reduce inflammation. They are also high in fiber and great for gut health.

The addition of bananas and coconut yogurt in this smoothie results in a perfectly creamy banana raspberry smoothie.

Bananas are an excellent source of resistant starches to feed probiotic bacteria in the colon.

Coconut yogurt is an excellent source of probiotics for gut health as well, especially if you make your homemade coconut yogurt, such as the L-Reuteri coconut cashew yogurt. But any store-bought coconut yogurt will do as well.

Oat milk is a great alternative to use in this vegan raspberry smoothie instead of regular milk to keep this smoothie dairy-free.

This antioxidant smoothie recipe is high in antioxidants and fiber to fuel a healthy gut, reduce inflammation, and promote weight loss.

How to make a banana raspberry smoothie

Making this raspberry smoothie is so easy.

Peel a fresh banana and pop it into a high-speed blender with one cup of frozen raspberries and two tbsp coconut yogurt.

Add in half a cup of oat milk, then secure the lid on top of the blender. Blend all the ingredients on high for 30 seconds.

Pour the smoothie into a glass cup with a reusable straw, and enjoy!

Mixing banana with raspberries helps to naturally sweeten this banana raspberry smoothie and offset the tartness of raspberries. Bananas and coconut yogurt also provide perfect creaminess.

Making the smoothie with frozen raspberries ensures that the smoothie is nice and cold. I’m not too sure about you, but I don’t enjoy a room temp smoothie.

To make a cold smoothie, I always ensure that at least one ingredient is frozen, such as the raspberries in the antioxidant-rich smoothie!
