Apple Cider Vinegar and Cinnamon Benefits
Taking apple cider vinegar and cinnamon for weight loss is an excellent combination due to their blood sugar-lowering effects. ACV is great for reducing fatty liver and thus promoting weight loss. A fatty liver is one of the reasons why people struggle to lose weight, especially abdominal fat.
Fatty liver is an underlying cause of insulin resistance and weight gain. Studies have demonstrated the benefits of apple cider vinegar for reducing fatty liver and obesity. ACV also improves insulin sensitivity and lowers fasting blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetics or women with gestational diabetes.
Inflammation is another underlying cause of weight gain and insulin resistance. Cinnamon is food for weight loss as it is a potent antioxidant that helps to reduce inflammation. Studies also show the beneficial effects of cinnamon for lowering blood sugar levels and improving insulin sensitivity.
Weight gain, insulin resistance, and fatty liver are intimately connected; therefore, it should not be surprising that cinnamon and apple cider vinegar are beneficial for all conditions. This apple cider vinegar, lemon, cinnamon, and honey drink kills three birds with one stone.
I love to sip on this warm apple cider vinegar drink in the evening before bed. It reminds me of Christmas and cold winter days in Canada, where a hot apple cider vinegar drink warms the belly and hands. This apple cider vinegar drink with cinnamon comes together in 5 minutes and is made with 5 ingredients only.

Apple cider Vinegar and Cinnamon Drink Recipe
- 1/2 tbsp Apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 5 drops Sweet Monk (liquid monk fruit sweetener)
- 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
- 3/4 cup hot water
Instructions:
- Heat the water until it is hot but not boiling.
- Pour the hot water into a mug.
- Add the apple cider vinegar and lemon juice.
- Stir in the cinnamon and liquid monk fruit sweetener.
- Mix well until the ingredients are evenly combined.
- Sip the drink while warm, stirring occasionally to prevent the cinnamon from settling at the bottom of the mug.
Tips and Substitutions
For a slightly stronger apple cider vinegar flavor and additional apple cider vinegar benefits, you can add an extra tablespoon of apple cider vinegar if you enjoy a more pronounced taste.
If you prefer a different sweetener, the monk fruit sweetener can be replaced with about 1 teaspoon of honey. You can also add a small touch of honey along with the monk fruit sweetener if you prefer the drink a little sweeter.
Because cinnamon does not fully dissolve in water, it will naturally settle at the bottom of the mug. Simply stir the drink occasionally while sipping to keep the cinnamon evenly distributed.
A splash of fresh pressed apple juice would complement the apple cider vinegar nicely, although it is not necessary. The apple cider vinegar, lemon, and cinnamon create a warm and comforting drink that is especially enjoyable on a chilly day.
If you would like to enjoy this apple cider vinegar cinnamon drink during the warmer months, it can easily be served chilled. Simply allow the drink to cool slightly and pour it over a few ice cubes for a refreshing version of this simple cinnamon drink.

I made this for the first time this morning, very good. This will be a daily drink for me and my husband. I will definitely share this with many.
Thank you.
I am so glad you enjoyed it!
How often should one drink this?
You can have it once a day :)
I just now made my first cup, hope it brings my sugar Dow and also lose some weight
Oh great! Let me know how you go.
@Amber, does this concoction have any side effects?
It can help people lose weight and lower blood sugar levels. Apple cider vinegar is a high-histamine food so that is not beneficial for people with histamine intolerance. Aside from that, I am not aware of any side effects, although any food or drink can cause reactions in sensitive individuals.
You should drink ACV through a straw as it can damage the enamel on your teeth.
Yes, if you worried about that it would be a good idea.
I am feeling good about this drink. My only issue is the cinnamon does not dissolve and I strain it
after letting it seep for about 5 minutes.
Yes the cinnamon does not dissolve, I give it an occasional stir with a spoon while drinking :)
@Dorothy Tipton,
What were your results?
Can you make a large batch and heat it daily?
Yes definitely! Although I would make a fresh batch every week at least :)
Is it best to drink at night or in the morning empty stomach or full?
I would drink it on an empty stomach before meals in the am or pm. I took straight apple cider vinegar in the evening before bed which helped me to lower my fasting blood sugar in the morning :)
Is it better to drink at night or morning and b4 you eat or after?
Before you eat is beneficial as apple cider vinegar and cinnamon can help lower post meal blood sugar levels. I also took straight apple cider vinegar before bed, and it helped lower my fasting blood sugar levels upon rising so it depends on which blood sugar readings you are looking to improve. You may want to substitute the honey for a non-nutritive sweetener such as monk fruit or leave it out as well to really improve your blood sugar readings :)
Can this help those with enlarged prostate and bladder stones?
Hi Tina, I am not sure ?
Dear Amber
How much of this should you drink daily?
Great question, I would have it once a day or divided into 3 servings before meals. Watch the honey if you are having it more than once a day :)
Just made it very pleasant taste
So glad you enjoyed it!
Can you use lemon juice in a bottle or does it have to be from a fresh lemon? Thank you
Fresh is best and will give the best taste. I find storebought to have a different taste that is no where near as good as fresh. But you can always try…
