This pineapple smoothie for weight loss with banana and cinnamon has a creamy tropical flavor that reminds me of traveling to the tropics where pineapples grow.

The pineapple and banana smoothie is vegan and low fat yet contains the essential fatty acids, including the omega-three fats that are beneficial for weight loss, along with protein from hemp seeds and collagen powder.

A key component to losing weight is to eat low fat and avoid saturated fats and processed oils which are extremely calorie dense. Saturated fats are also the worst fats for insulin resistance.

There seems to be a fear of sugar, but natural sugars found in whole fruits such as pineapple should never be lumped together with refined white table sugar. Refined sugar came up as a high food sensitivity on my bioresonance food intolerance test, yet all fruits were fine! (except for strawberries)

As I delve into the research, I continue to find studies highlighting fruit’s benefits for weight loss, including pineapple for weight loss. In the studies I have read, weight gain and increased insulin resistance are caused by a high-fat diet, making me question why the keto diet is so popular for weight loss? And why is there a fear of fruits?

Benefits of this pineapple smoothie for weight loss

I added cinnamon to this pineapple and banana smoothie for weight loss as it is one of the best spices to lower blood sugar and improve insulin sensitivity. Cinnamon helps the body to utilize sugar and, when combined with pineapple, is a great way to ensure optimal use and absorption of glucose.

Cinnamon also has potent anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties, with studies demonstrating the benefits of cinnamon for weight loss.

Pineapple is the star ingredient in this pineapple cinnamon smoothie and has many health benefits, including weight loss.

The pineapple fruit is rich in vitamin C, A, calcium, and potassium and contains the enzyme bromelain, which is beneficial for gut health and has anti-inflammatory properties. Pineapple also contains phenolic compounds that are beneficial for promoting weight loss.

The phenolic compound gallic acid reduced body weight and blood lipids in obese mice. Syringic acid has anti-obesity effects and prevents fat accumulation in the liver.

In this study done in mice, fresh pineapple juice decreased blood lipids, weight gain, and fatty liver in mice fed a high-fat diet. Pineapple juice also reduced the size and number of fat cells in obese mice and decreased serum insulin and glucose. These are some pretty phenomenal results that demonstrate the benefits of pineapple for weight loss!

It is also important to note that a high-fat diet causes obesity, increased blood lipids, and fatty liver in mice. Reversing fatty liver is essential for weight loss.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup pineapple
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 banana
  • 2 tbsp hemp seeds
  • 1 tbsp collagen powder
