Spinach Pineapple Banana Smoothie for Weight Loss

April 17, 2021 by Amber

spinach banana pineapple smoothie for weight loss this post

Energize and detox your body with this spinach pineapple banana smoothie for weight loss. This spinach pineapple banana smoothie is low fat and great for cleansing the gut and liver. It is such a healthy smoothie packed with essential minerals and vitamins to boost energy levels and promote weight loss.

The vegan smoothie is blended with almond milk and free of dairy products which can hinder weight loss goals as dairy is a common food sensitivity that causes chronic inflammation. You can use any non-dairy milk, such as oat milk, although I would avoid coconut milk as it is high in saturated fats and calorie dense, which is not beneficial for weight loss.

The pineapple green smoothie contains healthy ingredients and is nutritious, especially with a greens powder. Enjoy this pineapple weight loss smoothie as a meal replacement or easy breakfast to support liver detox. Green leafy vegetables such as fresh spinach are low in sugar yet highly nutritious and yield the perfect balance between fruits and veggies.

Health benefits of this spinach pineapple banana smoothie for weight loss

Pineapple contains bromelain, a protein-digesting enzyme with anti-inflammatory properties that are beneficial for improving gut health. Adding fresh or frozen pineapple to this healthy green smoothie is excellent for cleansing and breaking down undigested proteins rotting in the colon. The pineapple fruit is also a good source of vitamin c and naturally sweetens the smoothie without any added sugar.

Inflammation is an underlying cause of high cortisol levels, insulin resistance, and weight gain. This pineapple smoothie is full of phenolic compounds from pineapple that have anti-oxidant activities to combat free radicals. The bromelain in pineapple has anti-inflammatory properties that are beneficial for weight loss and breaking down fats.

Spinach is full of liver-cleansing phytonutrients, chlorophyll, and micronutrients, making it a great addition to this pineapple detox smoothie for weight loss. Leafy greens such as spinach are excellent sources of magnesium, an essential mineral crucial for weight loss and insulin resistance.

Spinach is also an excellent source of vitamins A, C, k, Folate, manganese, and iron. It also contains omega-3 fatty acids, which also help to promote a healthy weight. Vegetables such as spinach are the best foods for weight loss and lowering blood sugar levels, as spinach is nutrient-rich yet low in calories. I always like to add vegetables to my smoothies as they are a key ingredient to provide powerful phytonutrients, vitamins, and minerals.

I added a tsp of greens powder full of alkalizing greens for extra nutrients. Organifi Greens Juice Powder is a great brand but any greens powder can be used. Greens powders are full of superfoods that contain vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants to combat inflammation and gently detox the body.

Two tablespoons of pea protein powder provide more protein. The combination between pea protein powder and spinach is an excellent source of plant-based protein to meet the body’s protein requirements.

Adding a banana to this banana pineapple spinach smoothie provides a satisfying, ultra-smooth, creamy smoothie. Banana makes any smoothie taste delicious!
