Banana Smoothie for Fatty Liver with Cocoa and Omega 3 Fats

July 30, 2019 by Amber

Banana smoothie for fatty liver with cocoa and walnuts in a glass cup with a side jar of cocoa powder and black and white tea towel on the side. this post

This banana smoothie for fatty liver contains banana, cocoa, omega 3 fats and Metabolic detox complete powder for additional liver detox support. It is ultra creamy and the perfect dairy-free banana smoothie with cocoa powder to satisfy a chocolate craving.

The banana shake for fatty liver is made with walnuts that contain anti-inflammatory omega-three fats. Omega 3 fats have been associated with a decreased risk of developing fatty liver.

A study in mice fed a high fat diet induced fatty liver with 45 percent of energy coming from fat but in the mice that had the high fat diet with 21.5 percent of those fat calories derived from walnuts had significantly decreased amounts of liver fat accumulation.

Omega-three fats are great for anyone looking for weight loss smoothie recipes, as lowering inflammation is crucial for weight loss.

The fatty liver smoothie with banana and cacao powder is also rich in magnesium needed to make energy. And who doesn’t want to have increased energy levels?

Bananas are an excellent source of potassium and one reason why banana is good for the liver. Studies suggest that low potassium levels may contribute to fatty liver.

1/2 a scoop of Metabolic Maintenance Detox Complete is added for additional protein and nutritional detoxification support making this paleo chocolate banana smoothie great for weight loss and liver support.

Botanical Perfect Protein is my latest favorite vanilla flavored plant based protein powder that is sweetened ever so slightly with monk fruit extract. It adds just enough sweetness and vanilla flavor without over powering your smoothie like many protein powders that are overly sweet. It doesn’t have the extra nutrients for liver detox but it is a great alternative.

If your mornings are busy, this healthy chocolate banana smoothie is made in minutes. Pop all the ingredients into a blender, then pour into an insulated thermos to have this paleo chocolate banana smoothie on the go.

You can find this banana smoothie with cocoa in my 16 healthy smoothie recipes for weight loss and liver detox E-book that you can sign up to access in my library of recipe E-books. The E-book is designed to be printed on standard letter paper so you can create your own recipe book binder.

Are bananas good for your liver?

The bananas are high in potassium, which is an essential electrolyte required for optimal hydration. Bananas are good for the liver, and weight loss as bananas are high in resistant starches. Resistant starch from green banana reduced fatty liver in mice fed a high-fat diet. The mice fed resistant starch from green banana had reduced weight gain when fed a high-fat diet compared to the mice fed a high-fat diet without resistant starch from banana.

The resistant starch in bananas is a type of fiber that is great for gut health as it provides fuel for gut bacteria to produce short-chain fatty acids that have many positive health benefits. Resistant starch also contains no calories yet provides satiety to make you feel full. The fiber in bananas is excellent for weight loss and bulking up this paleo smoothie recipe for weight loss.
