Blackberries and beets make the best healthy smoothie for weight loss and inflammation as blackberries are high in the antioxidant anthocyanin, which gives blackberries their deep purple color.

Beets promote bile flow from a sluggish gallbladder which is crucial for liver detoxification, weight loss, and fat digestion. You can use grated raw beet or frozen cubed beets in this beet smoothie recipe for weight loss.

Beets are amazing for weight loss and liver health. The ability of beets to promote bile flow is highly beneficial for gut health, liver detox, and SIBO. Think of bile as a river the removes toxic waste from the liver and is antimicrobial to prevent SIBO.

How to use beets in smoothies

The ability of beets to support liver detox and bile flow is why I love beets and add them to my smoothies. Dicing up raw beetroot into 1 cm chunks and freezing them is a great idea if you plan on making beetroot smoothie recipes for weight loss and gut health. I like to chop up a full bag of frozen beets and add them to various smoothies.

I used grated beet in this recipe, but frozen beetroot works just as well in this beet smoothie for weight loss. Beets taste amazing in so many smoothies and can be used in so many ways. I love combining beets with blackberries, blueberries, and raspberries, which are also the top anti-oxidant-rich fruits to reduce inflammation for weight loss.

Anthocyanins are one of the most potent antioxidants that have been shown to reduce inflammation and insulin resistance. Both insulin resistance and inflammation are underlying causes of weight gain.

This antioxidant beet blackberry smoothie is one of the best smoothies for inflammation and weight loss as this smoothie is high in antioxidants and liver cleansing nutrients.

I added in banana which contains resistant starches and fiber for gut health, along with almonds, a touch of coconut yogurt, and three walnuts with anti-inflammatory omega-three fats for a filling smoothie for weight loss.

One of my favorite ways to start my day is with an antioxidant-rich smoothie, such as this blackberry banana smoothie with raw beetroot.

Eating liver cleansing fruits in the morning that are easy to digest and brimming with nutrients allows the liver to focus on detoxification and elimination.

With the standard western diet containing three meals plus snacks, the liver is overwhelmed with assimilating and processing and not enough time or energy to focus on detoxification and elimination.

So, energize your body and start your day with this delicious, colorful berry and beet smoothie that is a fantastic smoothie for inflammation and weight loss.

Ingredients for the Beetroot Smoothie for Weight Loss

  • 1 cup frozen blackberries
  • One banana
  • ¼ cup raw beet (grated or cut into cubes)
  • 2 tbsp L Reuteri coconut yogurt (optional but great for SIBO)
  • Three walnuts
  • Five almonds
  • 1 cup almond milk

Making this berry and beet smoothie is super easy. Just measure out all the ingredients and place them into a high-speed blender. Give a quick blend, then pour this antioxidant beetroot smoothie for weight loss into a mason jar and enjoy!

Benefits of Blackberries for weight loss

One of the primary health benefits of blackberries is their antioxidant properties that reduce oxidative stress and inflammation.

Blackberries contain high amounts of vitamin C, which is one of the most well-known antioxidants to scavenge free radicals and the potent antioxidant anthocyanin.

Manganese helps boost the body’s internal antioxidant enzyme superoxide dismutase. This enzyme helps break down one of the most cell-damaging reactive oxygen species that causes inflammation.

And guess what inflammation is an underlying cause of insulin resistance, weight gain, and high cortisol levels. Reducing inflammation is crucial for weight loss. The ability of blackberries to help reduce inflammation is one of the benefits of blackberries for weight loss.

Manganese is the Co-factor for the Mn-SOD enzyme and is, therefore, an important nutrient for helping to reduce inflammation in the body for weight loss.

Nutrients in blackberries that are particularly high include manganese, vitamin c, vitamin k.

In fewer amounts, additional nutrients found in blackberries include vitamin A, vitamin E, thiamine, riboflavin niacin, vitamin B6, folate, and pantothenic acid.

Blackberries also contain essential omega-three fatty acids and omega-six fatty acids and calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, copper, and selenium.

Blackberries are high in fiber, nutrient-dense, low in saturated fats, and full of healthy carbohydrates, making blackberries an excellent fruit for weight loss.
