- At the same time, they increased “good” cholesterol (HDL), which is crucial for heart and liver health.
- Lower Liver Enzymes:
- Elevated liver enzymes like ALT and ALP, markers of liver damage, decreased significantly in the groups consuming beetroot juice.

The main finding of this study is that beetroot juice significantly reduced liver steatosis in NAFLD patients and was more effective than the Mediterranean diet alone. However, combining beetroot juice with the Mediterranean diet was the most effective approach to reducing fatty infiltration of the liver.
