Or serve these roasted beets with some rosemary, feta cheese, and lemon juice for an easy roasted beet salad that is so tasty and cleansing for the gallbladder!

Beets are one of the best foods to support a sluggish gallbladder and improve fat digestion. For this reason, I love using beetroot in my recipes. Beetroot is also low fodmap in various portions depending on whether they are raw, cooked, or canned.

This roasted beet recipe is made with four ingredients:

  • Beets
  • Cold-pressed olive oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Roasting beets is such an easy and tasty way to enjoy this gallbladder cleansing root vegetable. Eating beets promote antimicrobial bile flow to prevent SIBO and open up the phase 3 liver detoxification pathway. For this reason, beets are an amazing liver-cleansing food.

Olive oil and the gallbladder

Using olive oil for the gallbladder is a great source of unsaturated fat that stimulates the gallbladder to release bile. Consuming small amounts of healthy fats is good for the gallbladder by prompting the gallbladder to empty. It is the presence of dietary fats that signals the release of the hormone CCK which then triggers the gallbladder to contract and release bile. This is why olive oil is used in the amazing liver and gallbladder flush cleanse.

Here is a case study demonstrating the effects of olive oil on the gallbladder for stimulating the bile secretion and gallstones to be released.

How to make roasted beets in the oven

Making roasted beets is super easy. Start by washing the beets then use a knife to slice the top and bottom of the beetroot off. Cut the beets in half and dice into 1-inch chunks.

Line a baking tray with baking paper, then spread the raw beets on top of the baking tray. Drizzle the beets with cold-pressed olive oil, salt, and cracked pepper.

Place the beets in the oven and roast for 50 minutes @ 180 degrees Celsius. It is that simple to make these easy oven-roasted beets.

Hi Don, I actually don’t peel the beets for this recipe but if you would like to I would peel the beets after washing and before chopping into chunks:)
