This vegan lemon tahini dressing is a great oil free salad dressing for weight loss and insulin resistance. It is fresh, creamy, vegan, and so yummy!
I like to use the tahini and lemon dressing as a buddha bowl dressing served with black beans, roasted sweet potato, corn, cherry tomatoes, avocado, and romaine lettuce. The tahini dressing is such an easy, healthy, and delicious buddha bowl salad dressing.
Using tahini is great to make a creamy oil free salad dressing for weight loss. Vegetables are the best foods for weight loss and lowering blood sugar, but often the salad dressing is high in calories and due to refined oils used to make salad dressings.
Nut and seed butter are much healthier than processed oils to make oil free salad dressings.
The oil free lemon tahini dressing ingredients include:
- Tahini
- Lemon
- Tamari
- Erithritrol
Nutritional benefits of this oil free lemon tahini dressing
Tahini is a paste made from ground sesame seeds that is great for making creamy salad dressings. It is nutritious and a great source of copper, selenium, phosphorus, iron, zinc, and calcium.
Selenium and zinc are antioxidants and important minerals for the immune system. Zinc helps to modulate insulin activity, and selenium is a co-factor for recycling glutathione, one of the body’s most potent antioxidants.
Lemon is an alkalizing liver cleansing fruit. The lemon in this oil-free tahini dressing provides a fresh and zesty flavor that complements the tahini and tamari.
Erythritol is one of the best sugar substitutes for diabetics.
Making this creamy vegan lemon tahini dressing is super easy. Measure all the ingredients into a wide mouth mason jar, then use an immersion blender to make a creamy salad dressing. Alternatively, you can use a high-speed blender as well.
The tahini and lemon dressing is super versatile and tastes great over any leafy green salad with freshly chopped vegetables of your choice. Using this tahini dressing over leafy greens is great for diabetes or insulin resistance as leafy greens are the best foods to lower blood sugar levels.
This oil free tahini dressing is delicious as a buddha bowl dressing as well. Add a legume and grain of your choice to mixed veggies, and you have a healthy buddha bowl.
Oil free salad dressings are the best dressings for weight loss as they are lower in fat and processed oils found in traditional store-bought salad dressings. Processed oils are high in calories and low in nutrients. On the other hand, vegetables are low in calories and high in nutrients, fiber, and antioxidants that lower inflammation.
Inflammation is an underlying cause of insulin resistance which leads to type 2 diabetes. A low-fat plant-based diet is the best diet for insulin resistance.
Tahini contains healthy unprocessed fats, fiber, vitamins, and minerals. It is the perfect option for making a creamy salad dressing.
This vegan lemon tahini dressing is full of flavor, fresh, and the best lemon tahini dressing I have ever made! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. The Glory Bowl dressing is another delicious vegan salad dressing made with tahini that is one of my most popular posts.
