The kale blueberry smoothie is sweetened with a tablespoon of optimal detox protein powder, which provides the liver and body with additional nutrients required for energy and liver detox.

If your mornings are busy like mine can be, not to worry. It takes hardly any time to make this smoothie.

Measure out all the ingredients for the blueberry kale smoothie recipe into a blender, give a quick blend, pour your smoothie into a glass, rinse your blender, and you are done in under 5 minutes. That’s why I love making smoothies!

Often I am out the door and off to work before I am hungry for the first meal of the day. Plus, I like to practice intermittent fasting for various health benefits, so I make this smoothie before work and pack it into a wide mouth thermos that keeps my smoothie cool for several hours.

I specifically made this smoothie without banana as bananas are high in resistant starches, which can aggravate SIBO symptoms and used to be one of my trigger foods.

Blueberry kale smoothie benefits

If you have weight loss goals, this nutritious smoothie will help to provide your body with micronutrients needed by your liver to detox effectively. A healthy liver is crucial to weight loss so that your body can safely eliminate toxins that are released from adipose cells when fat is used for energy.

Additional benefits of this smoothie include supporting the MTHFR gene with natural folate found in leafy greens and kale.

Blueberries are one of the best fruits to reverse insulin resistance. They one of the highest antioxidants fruits and are high in vitamin k, manganese, and vitamin c. Manganese is to co-factor for the SOD gene which helps to boost the bodies internal anti-oxidant production.

Kale is an excellent source of vitamins A, C, and K, along with folate, B6, and vitamin B2.

Chia seeds are an excellent source of healthy fats to help balance blood sugar and contain high amounts of the essential and anti-inflammatory omega-three fatty acids, which are great for brain health and weight loss.

There are just so many benefits to starting your day with this blueberry smoothie with kale!
