Cannellini Bean Baby Recipe with Avocado

December 15, 2021 by Amber

avocado baby puree this post

This cannellini bean baby recipe with avocado and nutritional yeast is a creamy, nutritious baby puree with one of the best beans for babies. It is full of iron, an essential nutrient for babies six months and older, plus B vitamins for energy and zinc for a healthy immune system. A squeeze of lime ties all the flavors together for an avocado and bean puree that your baby will love.

I wanted to make a cannellini bean baby recipe with cannellini beans as they are a rich source of iron that is crucial for growing babies older than six months. My girl is plant-based, so I was looking for high vegetarian sources of iron for babies, and cannellini beans are an excellent iron source.

Nutritional yeast is an excellent source of B12. Vegans and vegetarians are prone to B12 deficiency, so it’s vital to obtain vegetarian sources of B12, especially if your baby is vegetarian.

Avocado and cannellini beans seemed like the perfect baby food combination, so I thought I would try making a bean baby food puree with avocado for my baby girl.

Solid starts rates avocado with a 5-star nutrition rating for babies and cannellini beans with four stars. You can rest assured that this avocado baby puree with cannellini beans is nutritious for your bub!

Cannellini beans are an excellent source of plant-based protein for your baby, as well as fiber for gut health. Introducing a wide variety of fiber from fruits, vegetables, beans, legumes, and grains is crucial for building a diverse and robust microbiome. A healthy gut with beneficial bacteria is essential for a healthy immune system.

I initially made this cannellini bean and avocado baby puree with water and nutritional yeast, but she snubbed it when I gave my baby a test taste. Dang, I thought, how can I make this taste better?

The answer was some freshly squeezed lemon juice. Adding lemon juice was a gamechanger as my girl has loved this cannellini bean puree with avocado and lemon!

Sometimes, we need to adjust the recipe just a tad so our little ones like it. While babies often like plain food, they still enjoy some spices and zing. In fact, to my surprise, my baby loved sucking on a lemon! You never know what your baby will like unless you try. I’m glad my girl loves this avocado baby puree with cannellini beans, nutritional yeast, and lemon, as it is full of nutrients required for growing babies.

I hope your baby enjoys it just as much! You can always spice it with some cumin or a touch of salt if your baby is one. This black bean baby puree with avocado and lime is similar so if your baby likes this recipe you gotta try it as well!
