The recipe for vegan parmesan cheese is seriously the best. Nutritional yeast combined with hemp seeds and cashews yields a delicious and highly nutritious vegan parmesan cheese.

Nutritional yeast provides the ultimate cheesy flavor. When nutritional yeast is pulsed with the cashews and seeds, the texture is very similar to parmesan cheese.

I love to sprinkle this homemade vegan parmesan cheese onto sauteed zucchini, pasta sauce such as this lentil Bolognese, or on top of salads. The vegan parmesan cheese tastes delicious in a Caesar salad with this vegan cashew Caesar dressing.

How to make vegan parmesan cheese

Making this vegan parmesan cheese recipe is so easy. Measure the ingredients into a high-speed blender such as the Vitamix and pulse for a few seconds. You can also use a food processor.

The key to making the perfect vegan parmesan cheese is to not over-pulse the nuts and seeds. Pulse the mixture just enough so that it has a similar texture to parmesan cheese. The hemp seeds, sesame seeds, and cashews yield a very similar texture when blended just enough.

Nutritional yeast with sea salt gives a good cheesy flavor that is so yummy and addicting. You won’t miss eating real parmesan cheese when you can make this recipe.

A plant-based vegan diet is beneficial for weight loss as it is low in saturated fats that cause insulin resistance and fatty liver. Reducing your saturated fat intake with unsaturated fats in nuts and seeds is better for weight loss and preventing fatty liver.

Saturated fats are in animal products such as cheese. By substituting regular parmesan cheese with this homemade vegan parmesan cheese, you can reduce your saturated fat intake.

It only takes five minutes to make this homemade vegan parmesan cheese. Store it in a glass mason jar in the fridge or on the counter where it will last weeks if you don’t use it all right away.
