Using your genetic testing results is not as simple as if you have this gene, you will have this problem or need this supplement.
Using your strategene report will take some education or professional advice to help you understand your unique genetic biochemistry.
The strategene report put together by Dr.Ben Lynch and his team will reveal information to help you improve your health and clean your gene. At first glance, the strategene genetic test report may feel overwhelming.
That is because there are years upon years of research put into the diagrams and various pathways.
Our bodies are interconnected, your biochemistry is unique, and it will take some time to understand all how your body is connected. Looking at your genetic testing results from a holistic approach is needed to optimize your health.
If your ready to take the journey through personalized nutrition and cleaning your genes for optimal wellness, then genetic testing can help you identify where your genetic weakness lies.
When you know where your genetic weakness lies, you can support your genes. You can take the load off your genes and strengthen through providing nutritional and lifestyle support. The power lies with you!
What you get when your order the stategene DNA kit
Ordering the strategene DNA kit is super easy. Currently, anyone in the US can purchase the at-home DNA testing kit through Seeking Health, except for people living in New York.
When you receive the strategene DNA kit, you will receive instructions on how to do your saliva test or cheek swab. You will also need to create a free account to register your DNA kit number. You can view the status of your test and results through your online account.
Genetic testing with the strategene DNA kit can all be done through the comfort of your own home. You will also receive essential information to help you understand your unique genetics and results.
The education provided is crucial to learn how to optimize your genes according to your unique genetics. Upon purchase of the Stategene DNA kit, you will also be equipped with additional tools and resources to ensure your success in interpreting your results.
In addition to receiving the DNA test kit and stategene core report, you will also receive the Dirty Genes book, which is one of my top books that changed my life and course of nutritional studies. The information is life-changing when applied.
You will also have access to the digital Dirty Genes Course with 5 hours of educational videos, lessons, and actionable information put together by the creator of StrateGene. Dr. Ben Lynch.
He has a wealth of information and an in-depth understanding of the genetic pathways and connections between your genes and your health. Dr. Ben Lynchs education is the next level, so sit down with a pen and paper and get ready to write some notes.
You will also receive the dirty genes summit with two interviews on what to do if your genes are dirty and how genetic testing should be interpreted.
The ABCs of Clean Genes is a simple guide to cleaning your genes with recommendations and examples of what to do.
Genetic testing is useless if you do not know how to interpret your results or understand the big picture, which is why these additional tools and resources come with the strategene report. Knowledge is power when understood correctly and applied.
What to expect from the strategene report
The stategene report provides 124 pages of information on 74 genes and 147 SNPs, along with diagrams of the pathways and genes.
The strategene report is an insight into your unique biochemistry where you will find out what genetic SNPs you have and whether it is fast, slow, or intermediate.
You will find visual diagrams where you can see which pathway the gene lies in and the connections between various genes. Information is provided on:
- What increases gene activity
- What decreases gene activity
- What the nutritional cofactor for the gene is
Information on the function of the gene is included, with some food and supplement recommendations. You get the bang for your buck with the strategene report.
Genetic SNPs and your health
Now you may be wondering how can this help me? It is all about connecting the dots between your health symptoms and genes.
For example, if you have symptoms of histamine intolerance, it is helpful to know if you have genetic SNPs in the histamine pathway, such as the DAO gene.
The DAO enzyme degrades histamine in the gut and from food. If someone has SNPs in the DAO gene, they are more likely to experience symptoms of histamine intolerance, when eating high histamine foods.
The MAO B gene is involved in breaking down intracellular histamine inside the cell. SNPs in this gene can also make someone more prone to symptoms of histamine intolerance.
SNPs in the MTHFR gene or methylation pathway can make it more difficult for the body to make the methyl donor SAMe. The HNMT enzyme also helps to metabolize histamine and requires SAMe as the cofactor. SAMe is the nutrient needed for the HNMT enzyme to function.
SNPs in the COMT gene can cause this gene to be fast or slow. Catechins, estrogen, dopamine, and catecholamines are metabolized through the COMT gene.
If the COMT gene is too slow or sluggish, estrogen dominance can occur. High levels of estrogen can cause the sphincter of Oddi’s muscle to clamp down. This can lead to problems with releasing bile from the gallbladder.
SNPs in the SOD gene can lead to increased reactive oxygen species. Eating an anti-inflammatory diet can help to combat inflammation. Manganese found in blackberries in high amounts is the cofactor for the SOD2 gene.
Everybody needs to be avoiding environmental and toxic chemicals. But individuals with SNPs in the GSTP1 need to be extra cautious to eliminate toxins that burden this gene.
If you have SNPs in the FADS2 gene, you may not convert plant-based omega 3s into EPA very well. Eating fish or taking fish oil supplements high in DHA may be necessary to have balanced fatty acids.
These are just some of the genes that are tested through the Strategene DNA kit. Here is an example of what you can expect from the strategene report.
This diagram (pg 2) of the super seven dirty genes shows the critical connections between the MTHFR gene, the production of SAMe, and The PEMT gene. I always start with looking at SNPs in these genes when looking at someone’s genetic report.
MTHFR is involved in the production of SAMe. SAMe is needed for another 200 plus enzymes to function including:
-the PEMT gene to prevent fatty liver, a sluggish gallbladder, and SIBO.
-the HNMT enzyme to metabolize intracellular histamine.
-the COMT gene to metabolize estrogen and stress neurotransmitters.
Understanding the connection between the genes, where you are genetically slow or fast, and what inhibits or supports a gene is critical to optimizing your health.
If you are new to genetic testing, I first recommend reading Dirty Genes by Dr. Ben Lynch. This book provides information on seven crucial genes with actionable tips to clean your dirty genes.
No testing is necessary as this book provides you with questionnaires to help you determine which genes are dirty and how to clean your genes.
If you are ready to jump into the world of genetics and optimizing your genes, you can order your Strategene DNA kit through Seeking Health.
Doing genetic testing and using the strategene report will help you to understand yourself on a very personal level. Everyone has a unique biochemistry. When you know your weakness, you can make lifestyle and dietary choices to optimize your genes and health.
