Potatoes can get a bit of a bad reputation due to the way potatoes are prepared or processed. Potato wedges deep-fried in copious amounts of oxidized unhealthy refined vegetable oil is not healthy. The same is true for potato chips.

But a real raw whole potato, that is another story.

Benefits of potatoes

Potatoes are an excellent source of fiber and resistant starches that make you feel full and satiated while also feeding probiotic bacteria in the colon. The resistant starches and fiber found in potatoes are an excellent source of fiber for a healthy gut.

Potatoes are also a fantastic budget-friendly food to bulk of dinners.

I serve these potato wedges as a side to accompany baked salmon with parmesan roasted green beans, such a delicious and healthy dinner.

Try serving the roasted potato wedges with these homemade veggie burgers.

You can use any leftover potato wedges to make a scrambled egg hash for breakfast. In fact, I like to make extra potato wedges so that I have leftovers to use with scrambled eggs and vegetables for breakfast.

You can spice up your potato wedges by adding rosemary, parmesan, garlic, or whatever your favorite herbs are.

I kept this roasted potato wedges recipe super simple and used master foods smoky BBQ seasoning salt to spice up these oven-roasted potato wedges. It has several spices all combined into one with a delicious smoky BBQ flavor that is the perfect blend to make homemade potato wedges.

How to make roasted potato wedges

Making these roasted potato wedges is super easy.

First, you will want to wash the potatoes then cut in half lengthwise.

Cut each half of the potato into four sliced wedges.

Place the sliced potato wedges onto a baking tray and drizzle 1 tbsp of cold-pressed olive oil on top.

I get right in there with my hands to thoroughly coat all the potatoes in olive oil before adding on the seasoning salt. Again, I use my hands to evenly coat the potato wedges in the olive oil and seasoning salt.

Give your hands a quick rinse before placing the baking tray in the oven for 35 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius.

Enjoy this oven-roasted potato wedges recipe with a side of sweet chili sauce and Greek yogurt. Mmmm, so yummy!
