5 Minute Fruit Bowl with Yogurt and Granola

July 12, 2024 by Amber

Strawberry and Blueberry Fruit Bowl with Yogurt and Granola this post

Start your day full of energy with this delicious and nutritious fruit bowl with yogurt and granola, which only takes 5 minutes to prepare. Packed with fresh berries, creamy yogurt, and crunchy granola, this yogurt granola fruit bowl is not only tasty but also balanced and satisfying.

Having granola with yogurt and fruit is perfect for busy mornings, as all you have to do is chop the strawberries, combine all the ingredients into a bowl, mix with a spoon, and enjoy!

I often pre-make this yogurt granola fruit bowl in a double-sided to-go container when I don’t have time to eat before getting my toddler off to preschool. I mix the fresh fruit and yogurt on one side, then yogurt on the other side, and mix when I am ready to eat when I am out!

It’s the perfect healthy and easy breakfast to take with you for a well-balanced meal packed with protein, healthy fats, and liver cleansing fruits. I like to mix the fruit with plain yogurt and homemade granola that is oil free and sweetened with maple syrup.

Lately, I have been enjoying this easy to make oil free granola with flax seeds that contain the essential omega three fats, or this low fodmap granola that is equally delicious and easy to make.

According to Cronometer, this granola with fruit and yogurt recipe contains approximately:

  • 463 calories
  • 19 grams of protein
  • 64 grams of carbs
  • 11 grams of fat

Ingredients for the Fruit Bowl with Yogurt and Granola:

  • 1/2 cup granola
  • 3/4 cup plain low-fat yogurt
  • 1/2 cup strawberries, sliced
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries

How to Make the Yogurt Granola Fruit Bowl

  1. Prepare the Ingredients:
    • Wash the strawberries and blueberries thoroughly.
    • Chop the strawberries into small chunks.
  2. Combine the Ingredients:
    • In a medium-sized bowl, place the yogurt, granola, and berries.
  3. Optional Sweetener:
    • You can drizzle a little honey or maple syrup over the top for added sweetness, but this step is optional.
  4. Mix and Enjoy:
    • Mix your fruit bowl with yogurt and granola, and enjoy!
    • Once mixed, enjoy the fresh flavors and crunchy texture of the granola immediately.

Tips and Substitutions:

  • For an added boost of healthy fats and protein, sprinkle chia or hemp seeds on top.
  • To make this a fodmap-friendly breakfast, use a lactose-free yogurt, and be sure to use this low fodmap granola with the fruit and yogurt for a gut friendly breakfast.
  • Swap up the fruit used in this yogurt breakfast bowl with your favorite fruits to make a variety of flavors. I also love strawberry banana and apple with banana, but when fresh blueberries and strawberries are in season, they are my favorite!
  • I used low-fat, unsweetened yogurt because I avoid refined sugar and watch my intake of saturated fats, which can increase insulin resistance; plus, I like the texture of low-fat yogurt. You can use plain Greek yogurt instead to make high protein yogurt bowls with a thicker, creamier texture.
  • The natural sweetness from the fruit and maple sweetened homemade granola is perfect for me, but if you prefer a sweeter granola yogurt fruit bowl, add a drizzle of honey or maple syrup.
  • Meal prep these fruit yogurt breakfast bowls ahead of time in a double sided airtight container with fruit and yogurt on one side and granola on the other side.
  • I used this oil free low fodmap granola for this recipe, but you can use your favorite granola. Just watch out for the refined sugar and oils used in most commercial store-bought granolas.

This fruit bowl with yogurt and granola is one of my favorite healthy breakfasts. It’s packed with protein, fiber, and antioxidants, making it a wholesome, delicious breakfast or snack. I often crave this yogurt granola fruit bowl as an afternoon snack or sometimes as a light dinner if I have eaten a heavier lunch.

Enjoy this 5-minute yogurt breakfast bowl, which is nutritious, easy, and packed with liver cleansing antioxidants from blueberries. These antioxidants are great for weight loss and insulin resistance. It is one of my go to healthy breakfast recipes when I crave something light yet satisfying with the perfect crunch.

The yogurt fruit bowl can be paired with any of these delicious oil free granola recipes that are healthy and naturally sweetened!
