Start your day with this easy blueberry lemonade recipe that comes together in 2 minutes using a blender and is made with frozen blueberries, fresh lemon juice, lemon zest, and a touch of maple syrup. This 3-ingredient blueberry juice with lemon comes together in under 2 minutes for a refreshing & liver healthy drink that is rich in antioxidants and tastes like blueberry lemonade.
I have been loving the fresh flavors that lemon juice and zest bring to fruit juices and smoothies such as this blueberry lemonade juice. Blueberry juice on its own is flat-tasting, but lemon juice and zest transform this simple blueberry juice into the best-tasting drink with a refreshing twist that many are sure to love.
It’s naturally hydrating and refreshing, making it the perfect healthy summertime drink. I naturally sweetened the blueberry lemonade with maple syrup. You can easily adjust the sweetness by adding a dash of maple syrup, or, for an even healthier version, you can use a non-nutritive sweetener such as liquid monk fruit sweetener.
Blueberry Lemon Juice Ingredients
- 1 cup frozen blueberries
- Juice from ½ lemon
- 1 teaspoon fresh lemon zest
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- ¾ cup water

How to Make Bluleberry Juice In a Blender
- Add the frozen blueberries, fresh lemon juice, lemon zest, and maple syrup to a high-speed blender.
- Blend until smooth.
- Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately.
Tips & Substitutions
- Adjust the sweetness. I love this blueberry lemonade with 1 tablespoon of maple syrup, but you can easily add more or less depending on how sweet your blueberries are and your personal preference.
- Use monk fruit for a lower sugar option. Replace the maple syrup with a few drops of liquid monk fruit sweetener and adjust to taste.
- Use frozen blueberries. Frozen blueberries make this drink cold and refreshing without having to add a bunch of ice that can water down the flavor.
- Don’t skip the lemon zest. Fresh lemon juice adds tartness, but the lemon zest is what really brings out the fresh lemon flavor and transforms a simple blueberry juice into a refreshing blueberry lemonade.
- Adjust the water. I use ¾ cup of water for a light and refreshing drink, but you can use a little less if you prefer a thicker blueberry juice.
- Add more lemon. If you love a really tart lemonade, add a little extra fresh lemon juice after blending and adjust to taste.
Why I Don’t Strain This Blueberry Lemonade Juice
One of my favorite things about this blueberry lemonade recipe is how easy it is to make. There is no cooking, making a simple syrup, or straining the blueberries. I simply add everything to a high-speed blender, blend until smooth, pour into a glass, and enjoy.
I also prefer not to strain this blueberry juice because the whole blueberries provide 6.5 grams of fiber per recipe. Straining the juice would remove some of the blueberry pulp and fiber that I want to keep in the drink. Fiber is beneficial for both gut health and blood sugar balance.
Using a high-speed blender creates a smooth blueberry lemonade that is easy to drink without having to strain it. Plus, the entire recipe takes less than 2 minutes to make, which is exactly what I want when I’m craving something cold and refreshing on a hot summer day.

Blueberries are packed with beneficial plant compounds, especially anthocyanins, which are the pigments that give blueberries their deep blue and purple color. It’s the anthocyanins that make the greatest contributions to the health benefits associated with blueberries.
Research has found that regular blueberry and anthocyanin intake was associated with benefits for cardiovascular health, blood sugar regulation, inflammation, and brain health. Human studies have also found improvements in some markers of vascular function, insulin sensitivity, and cognitive performance, although the results were not consistent across every study.
Blueberries are among the top antioxidant rich fruits with so many health benefits. Inflammation is at the root of many conditions, and making healthy juices such as this blueberry lemonade juice is a great way to boost your intake of antioxidants while soaking up the summertime sun.
It’s also the perfect homemade bluebery juice to enjoy anytime you are craving a light and hydrating drink that is cleansing and oh so refreshing.
