How to Steam Kale

The easiest and best way to steam kale is in a double boiler. Wash and destem the kale then place in the top double boiler pot. This pot has holes in the bottom to let the steam through. The holes also allow for the water to drain out which is why it is so easy to make steamed kale in a double boiler.

Place 1.5 cup of water in the bottom of the double boiler and bring to a boil. Place the second pot on top with the lid secured and boil for two minutes.

When using a double boiler you do not need lots of water, although make sure that you do have enough water in the bottom of the pot as you do not want to burn your pot as the water evaporates quickly when boiled.
