Blueberry Acai Bowl – Thick, Creamy, Vegan

July 23, 2018 by Amber

Blueberry Smoothie Bowl

Treat yourself with this blueberry acai bowl that is dairy-free, healthy, and full of antioxidants. This blueberry banana smoothie bowl with acai powder is perfectly thick and creamy from the addition of banana and coconut cream.

Top with some granola, shredded coconut, and hemp seeds for a delicious and textured crunch to make the best acai powder smoothie bowl.

Ingredients to make the best blueberry banana acai bowl

1 banana
2 cups frozen blueberries
1/2 cup coconut cream
2 tbsp acai powder

How to make a blueberry acai bowl

Place all ingredients into a high-speed blender to blend until thick and creamy.

Serve in your favorite smoothie bowl or cup and sprinkle with granola, shredded coconut, and hemp seeds to enjoy this delicious blueberry acai bowl.

If you are wondering how to make a thick blueberry smoothie bowl, the key is to add in as little liquid as possible. This vegan blueberry smoothie bowl with acai powder only has coconut cream added as the only liquid, which results in a thick smoothie bowl.

It is worth it to invest in a high-speed blender that doesn’t require liquid to blend to make thick smoothie bowls. I recently purchased the Optimum 9200 blender and am so glad I did. You can seriously make the best blueberry acai bowl, and it is so easy!

Just pop all the ingredients into the blender and blend on high for 30 seconds. The Vitamix blender is the rival to the optimal 9200.

If you love making acai smoothie bowls, a high-speed blender such as these two will be an investment that you will be so glad you made. I know I love my blender and look forward to using it daily!

You can also use an immersion blender to make this blueberry acai bowl as you don’t need to add in as much liquid as a regular blender to blend into a nice and thick smoothie bowl. Although, it does require a bit more work and arm strength to blend the smoothie.

Benefits of blueberries

Blueberries are top on the list of fruits high in antioxidants. They contain a high content of the potent antioxidant called anthocyanins and have been shown to improve insulin resistance for weight loss.

If you want to scavenge free radicals, lose weight, have glowing skin, and reduce inflammation add blueberries to your smoothie bowls!

Acai powder and blueberries are full of antioxidants that help to counter the effects of free radical damage and inflammation in the body, thus slowing down the aging process and preventing diseases that are associated with excess inflammation in the body.

As with everything, balance is crucial as the body needs the ability to both inflame as it is a healing response to an injury or irritation along with the ability to anti-inflame. With excess inflammation being at the root of many chronic conditions, it is more important than ever to obtain antioxidants in the diet.

It is also necessary to look at what is causing inflammation, such as inflammatory foods (gluten, alcohol, dairy, and soy are common inflammatory foods), toxins in the environment, stress, infections, etc.

Take action to avoid and limit your stressors while increasing the intake of antioxidant-rich foods such as the antioxidants found in this blueberry smoothie bowl recipe.
